GivingTuesday Now: Join the Global Movement of Good!
Reaching a goal of $5,000 will pay for a quartet in residency for one year to help our advanced chamber students prepare to audition for the college or conservatory of their choice.

Do you remember...
Do you remember how you felt when you first heard the music of your favorite artist. No matter if your a fan of the Beatles, Joan Baez, or Stevie Wonder, their is a shared experience that we all feel through music we listen to. These shared experiences are even more impactful when the music that we listen to becomes the music that we in return make ourselves. Music has the power to transform lives. What happens when a child's ability to listen to, create, and experience diverse forms of music is taken away? In the town of Wake Forest, there are no public school orchestra programs for students to participate in. The Wake Forest Community Youth Orchestra is the only after-school program in our town where youth can receive expert orchestral instruction and access to free instruments. No child is ever turned away for inability to pay or lack of an instrument. Give to Wake Forest Community Youth Orchestra Wake Forest Community Youth Orchestra is also the ONLY after-school program where the teachers look like the students that they serve. This is important as we serve Pre-K through 12th grade youth who are recognized as historically marginalized populations.
Here are a few fun facts about our organization:
- We serve 350 youth across three counties (Wake, Franklin, and Vance)
- 100% of all WFCYO high school seniors graduate with scholarships to college
- We celebrated and embrace the diversity, which is reflected in our staff demographics AND the repertoire students perform.
- We provide tuition assistance and free instruments to every family in need.
- Parents may to take lessons with their children at no additional charge
- Every child's gifts and talents are welcome, including students with mental or physical disabilities.
