Virtual Performance 2020
Reaching our goal of $5,000 will allow our students to showcase everything they learned in virtual classes over the summer.
The global pandemic has presented unimaginable challenges to communities everywhere, but education and the arts have been especially hard hit. During spring and summer 2020, when so much remains uncertain, the Dance Project of Washington Heights is committed to providing virtual dance programming to all of our students. We hope that the consistency of dance classes can inspire much needed connection, focus, and joy, regardless of what the world looks like outside.
The hard work of our students deserves to be celebrated, and this summer is no exception. We want to host a virtual performance this August, streamed on Vimeo and available for download, for all of the young dancers who have been participating in online classes over the spring semester. Our students range in age from 3-14, and study all types of dance, including ballet, hip hop, break dance, tap and Latin dance. Help us show each and every one of them how much we value their talent! We miss our close knit community, and hope that this project can reach through many screens to bring us all together.
Join us in continuing to prioritize learning, creativity, and expression in this difficult time. Every dollar donated to this campaign will go into the planning and execution of a virtual showcase of our student’s work. Thank you!
