Life in a Migrant Shelter during Covid-19
$1000 will fund the educational coordinator at ABBA for 3 months. This training provides practical skills training - such as commercial cooking & machinery maintenance - that both short- and long-term residents can use once they leave the shelter.
The global coronavirus pandemic has brought a pause to many daily activities around the world. The US border is effectively closed to asylum seekers, yet people continue to flee their homes in search of safety. This journey brings many migrants to the doors of Albergue ABBA, one of only a handful of migrant shelters in Mexico that continue to provide food and accommodation to migrants in need. Join ABBA Founder and Director, Pastor Ignacio Martinez Ramirez, for a bilingual presentation as he provides an update on life at the shelter.
