I, Rena Mamoun, Wear Turquoise - For My Loved One. Will You Join Me?
Ensures our ability to carry forth the American Lung Association mission including overcoming COVID-19 and preventing future pandemics like this.
I am the President of the first American Lung Association Collegiate Council on my campus at California State University, Fullerton. As an undergraduate student I am continuing my education in Public Health while minoring in Public Policy and Public Administration. Aside from my education, I have had experience surrounding the issues of Lung health, Smoking, Nicotine products, air pollution, and policy work surrounding multiple cities.
I experience great student interaction and involvement on her campus as I carry the presidency position in four other organizations on my campus. With my involvement I have witnessed how youth and young adults are impacted by nicotine products such as cigarettes and electronic devices. This has driven me to get involved with multiple organizations that are motivated to create change for the better.
I have carried out experience in implementing and advocating for the smoke free policy on my campus. I have also participated as a member in the L.A. Families fighting Flavored Tobacco.
At this time, I've refocused my efforts from Advocacy into COVID-19. Having personally seen the long-lasting effects that the disease can have on lung health, it is clear that the fight is still not over and that is why I am dedicated to helping in the American Lung Association's overcoming of COVID-19.
I Wear Turquoise (IWT) is an American Lung Association LUNG FORCE campaign, engaging leaders throughout Southern California.
