Home for the Holidays
Reaching our ultimate goal of $25,000 will allow us to comfortably rescue 20 dogs this Holiday season and keep the ball rolling into 2020.
No dog deserves to be alone in the shelter ever, but especially during the Holiday season. Every year starting in November, we lose regular fosters due to Holiday travel and busy schedules. However, we don't want this to stop us from making this our biggest rescue period of the year. So, our mission for Home for the Holidays is to recruit new fosters and raise enough money to comfortably save 20 dogs from high kill shelters. We can't do this important without you. Your compassionate support means everything to these precious souls. Together, we can accomplish mission Home for the Holidays!
The Little Red Dog was founded in 2011 in memory of a little red American Pitbull Terrier who didn't make it. If you are familiar with the Michael Vick dog fighting case chronicled in The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption, The Little Red Dog was brutally beaten to death by Vick and his cronies because she had the audacity to not to want to fight. TLRD fights for all the dogs, red, blue, tan, white, brown, black and all colors in between. We do not discriminate against ANY breed; that's because we are a real rescue, and we will help as many animals as we can. Our primary goal is to get them into loving homes. Our hope that some day all of them make it out, but most of all, we will never forget the Little Red Dog and many others who did not.
