Mission Centers of Houston
Provides for the physical and spiritual needs of people living in Houston’s inner city. We change lives with the love, mercy, and grace of Jesus Christ through our food pantries, children and youth clubs, senior adult fellowship program, and homeless assistance initiatives. We seek to minimize the effects of poverty and lack of affordable resources by addressing the needs of the whole person—physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
In the Near Northside and Magnolia Park areas, predominately Hispanic neighborhoods deemed as food deserts, approximately 31% of the population lives in poverty, including children and senior adults. In our neighborhood schools, approximately 95% of students are economically disadvantaged; a statistic that has continually increased since 2017. As we work to uplift healthy families by supplying nutritious food, meaningful programs, and guidance to those in need we hope to transform our neighborhoods into high-functioning communities.
This year we are counting on you to double our impact and donate during #GivingTuesday. The first $500 donated will be matched to assist in expanding our programs. As the need continually increases this is your chance to make a significant difference in someone else's life through our inner-city mission work. Our supporters and volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry.
